Renaissance Charter School at Coral Springs (RCSCS) is a K–8 public charter school in Coral Springs, Florida, serving 1,500 students within the Charter Schools USA network. In the 2025–26 school year, RCSCS implemented ClassBank schoolwide to unify campus culture, strengthen student ownership, and embed financial literacy into daily routines – achieving 95% staff fidelity and 100% teacher endorsement in year one.

"ClassBank reinforces positive behaviors, academic effort, and responsible decision-making, helping students stay engaged, build confidence, and take ownership of both their learning and their role within the school community."
Lynette Self, Scholar Principal

The Challenge: Building One Cohesive Culture Across a Large Campus

Like many large schools, RCSCS faced a familiar challenge: building one cohesive culture when classroom systems varied widely.

While PBIS and Leader in Me were already in place, RCSCS lacked a unified schoolwide structure to bring those frameworks to life daily. As Principal Self shared, the inconsistency created student confusion and weakened culture-building efforts.

Previous point systems fizzled out. RCSCS needed more than a behavior tracker – they needed a schoolwide system that built student agency, strengthened culture, and taught real-world money skills without adding one more thing to teachers’ plates.

The Solution: Implementing ClassBank for Real-World Skills, Agency, and Ownership

ClassBank gave RCSCS a clear, schoolwide structure that aligned staff and students through one shared economy. Students applied for classroom jobs, earned salaries, budgeted for the schoolwide store, and even paid desk rent and classroom taxes. Built to fit each grade level and strengthen existing frameworks, ClassBank made expectations, responsibility, and leadership visible every day.

Teacher buy-in came quickly as they saw the immediate impact on student motivation, behavior, and accountability.  “ClassBank became a tool teachers wanted to use, not had to use."

"It turns expectations into something visible, consistent, and motivating. Before, students needed constant redirecting and had repeated minor referrals. After: no referrals, earlier self-correction, more positive teacher–student interactions."
Donnet Ferguson-President, 3rd Grade Team Lead

The Outcomes: A Schoolwide Culture Where Agency Is Visible and Money Skills Are Real

At RCSCS, ClassBank is part of daily life. Throughout the day, students hear the "cha-ching" of deposits and withdrawals as their choices connect to real outcomes. The result is a more positive, student-centered school culture where expectations feel visible, motivating, and consistent.  Teachers report fewer behavior referrals, earlier student self-correction, and stronger teacher-student relationships.

The most distinctive shift has been in student agency. At RCSCS, students take on real responsibility by applying for jobs, making decisions about how they earn, save, and spend, and building pride in their role within the school community. Through daily participation, they strengthen financial literacy, foundational math, and life skills in ways that feel practical, consistent, and connected to everyday school life.

"ClassBank has not only motivated our students – it has improved their foundational math skills, as well as life skills, tremendously."
– Jackson Garcia, Dean of Students

ClassBank has significantly improved classroom dynamics for teachers – freeing them to spend less time on classroom management and more on instruction.
